From the taming of volcanoes to the fossils behind our mythical creatures, learn about the science that eventually replaced them.

"When brainstorming this year’s theme, we considered how complex the world really is. We still can’t explain everything today, so how did people do it in the past? Illustrating these concepts that go beyond what a camera could capture gave us a lot of creative freedom. Each illustration was carefully conceptualised and designed, and we aimed to make the artworks very detailed so that something new can catch your eye throughout the entire month." Teddy, Head of Illustration |
Made by Humans, for Humans
Behind every page is a team of real people: researchers digging into myths, writers shaping stories, and artists illustrating each unique legend by hand. Every detail (and there are many!) is there for a reason. Creating this calendar takes a year of hard work, but it's become our statement against mindless AI slop.
Fund Another Year of kurzgesagt
Each calendar purchase funds independent science communication, giving our researchers, writers, and artists the time and care to make meaningful, high-quality work. Thanks to you, we can keep making free educational videos for millions, crafted with love and curiosity.
WHAT OTHER BIRBS THINK
A
The calendar is beautiful. It looks and feels better in person than in online samples. I'm completely satisfied with the purchase.
T
Shipped quickly and is absolutely gorgeous! Love it, just like all the previous calendars I've bought from Kurzgesagt!
We are so glad you are enjoying your calendar already! Thanks for your lovely words and for sharing a nice photo 🤩

The calendar has become an annual ritual in my home with this being my 3rd year. The art abd everything is cool but the bigger picture is why I get it in the first place: to help Kurzgesagt continue to put educational information in a format kids can understand in a world filled with fail and rant videos. Keep it up guys, I love it.
D
Best way to cheer up in the morning, looking to the colorfull wanders of the past, with a tip of cool info.
We love to hear that, thank you so much! 💖

Every year since the beginning of time… well since they started making these specific calendars I buy them. The art is fantastic. And reading the facts each month and trying to spot the hidden Birbs while being practical is so fun.
Thank you for your support all these years! 🙏
N
I've been buying these for years. The art is always incredible (you know this) and the little blurbs are fun (you know this too) and the quality is top notch (if you didn't know, now you do, so go buy one).
M
Beautiful artwork, quality materials, supports an amazing team! And has the correct months and days 😉... all you want in a calendar!
A
We have a stack of calendars dating back to the very first, and we'll keep buying them as long as you keep making them. Thanks for all of your work!
Thanks to all the support like yours, we will keep making more! 🤩

Last year was the first time I bought the human era calendar and it was one of the best purchases I've made in a while. For starters, the quality is fantastic, as is this year's. The artwork is beautiful and I love that it is all made by caring humans.
As a side-effect, it has been much easier for me to keep track of mine and the wife's appointments. Sure, I have them in my phone calendar, but I really try my best to not have that thing on me as much as possible. Sometimes it's nice to just go analog and write something down for a change. 10/10 Will buy every year so long as finances allow it.
We are so glad your first Human Era Calendar was such a game-changer and that you are keeping a yearly tradition now! Thank you for your kind words and your amazing support ❤️
E
Arrived quickly, and in great condition. The quality is really high as always, at least of the cover and back, I like to keep myself surprised with the illustrations inside for each month. Either way, this is the fourth year I'm buying these, and I have yet to be disappointed
K

Beautiful Art, nice large size making it very visible. Love the little captions for each piece of art.
Only thing I wish they would add is some little Kurzgesagt Ducks around the calendar pages to make them a little more lively
